Put the well-travelled routes behind you and enjoy the adventure and pleasure of riding in Morocco.

Our cycling holidays and tours are for the discerning cyclist, there is a real feeling of adventure but above all they are fun.

In Morocco, you will ride in fabulous surroundings. Departing from Marrakesh we ride to the base of Atlas and then on through the foothills and into the Atlas mountains to climb to our first overnight stay in the famous high Atlas village of Imlil below Jebel Toubkal.

We will then circumnavigate the Atlas around Toubkal the highest mountain in the Atlas, crossing the Tizi n'Test (2092m) an awe-inspiring pass that crosses the Atlas and connects to Taroudant and Taliouine. Cutting right through the heart of the Atlas, the road was blasted out of the mountains by the French from 1926 to 1932 – the first modern route to link Marrakesh with the Souss plain and the desert.

We then cross through the Souss plain with the desert to our south and the Atlas to the north, the scenery is stunning and like nothing else.

Finally, before returning to Marrakesh we re-cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka (2260m) known as the gateway of the Sahara Desert, a mountain pass linking Marrakesh to the city of Ouarzazate.

ITINERARY

Day Four: As we descend the Tizi n'Test to the Souss plain the view we take your breath away. We then make a left turn to ride across the base of the Atlas towards the oasis town of Taliouine dominated by hills and the impressive Glaoui Kasbah. We stay in comfortable accommodation en route, often in the authentic Berber country style surrounded by olive trees and insight of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, you can relax after your ride a listen to the call to prayer before an evening with your companions or at your leisure. Daily you will be provided with a communal cyclists breakfast and a nutritious evening meal. Daytime stops will be provided by our support crew who will prepare food and brew tea and coffee along the way and of course, we will be able to sample local pancakes, bread and olives, Moroccan coffee, mint tea and fresh orange juice.

There will be many opportunities to stop and enjoy the scenery and take pictures.

We will have an opportunity to visit a hammam and Souk with an evening in the Jemaa el Fna square where after watching the sunset from a balcony bar we can walk among the snake charmers, vendors, and storytellers. You can sit down with locals to sample the spice tea and cake.

We want this tour to be an adventure for you, a social experience where you will meet new friends and make great memories. We run it as a BPM Coaching Ltd Club experience for like-minded adventurers. We look forward to seeing you in the Atlas Morocco, once ridden never forgotten...

Supported Tours in the Pyrenees and Basque Country

Bike Basque in collaboration with BPM Coaching Ltd organises unique cycling tours, in both the Pyrenees and the Basque Country.

We love the Pyrenees for its wide choice of epic and historic climbs such as the Tourmalet and the Aubisque which have regularly featured in the Tour de France since its conception.

With Bike Basque you can ride across the Pyrenees from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean or alternatively tour in the Pyrenees conquering climbs from a base within the "circle of death" surrounded by the most famous climbs of the Pyrenees.

Bike Basque

The less discovered Basque Country is also a region big climbs such as the Mayo, Olano, Sanchez. Between sea and mountains, you’ll be amazed by the coastal routes and the beautiful challenging wooded climbs that link the villages on route. With more Michelin star region restaurants here than in other regions in the world there is great authentic Basque cuisine to be enjoyed by every pocket.

While you enjoy your cycling holiday, Bike Basque will take care of the rest.

“When I arrived in Marrakech, I had no idea what to expect of a training camp in a country I did not know. But I completely trusted Nigel. And I was right: he organized everything perfectly: a charming hotel in a quiet, relaxing environment, airport transfer, breakfast waiting at the hotel after early arrival by plane, different rides adapted to the small group, taking care of the group’s needs , adapting the program to weather and riders’ conditions, etc. And he joined the “work” (training) and with a recreational part: fun day on mountain bikes, guided city bike tour to experience traffic in Marrakech, etc. A truly unforgettable training camp and holiday – I’ll be back in 2015 (and 2016!)”
