Training camps & tours are not races, there are specifically designed to suit the requirements of the client. What ever the level we will ride in fabulous surroundings climbing from the beaches to the mountains at a pace and over a distance designed to meet the aims of the group involved.
Sometimes the comfort of destinations and routes we know well can stop us discovering something better or different just over the horizon. For me the discovery and the pleasure of putting a new pin in the map is a massive part of why I ride a bike. Sardinia ticks all the boxes, just a short hop over the Mediterranean from the Balearic Islands is not the new Majorca it’s different it’s better.
Italy and Sicily are firmly in the spotlight for travelling and cycling but colourful island of Sardinia, as close to Tunisia as to mainland Italy sits in the bluest sun-drenched waters of the Mediterranean
Located closer to Africa than Italy, Sardinia’s turquoise sea and white sandy beaches rival the tropics and are yet unspoiled by over development, inland well maintained roads lead to an ancient an Sparsely populated but always interesting landscape. This one of the most ancient regions in Europe boasts stunning scenery from perfect beaches to snow-capped mountains, granite filled valleys, deep canyons and vast forests as well the architectural remains of the Nuragic civilization. , a host of Roman and Bronze Age ruins, including the “Tomba dei gigantic” as well as some of the most memorable cuisine in southern Europe.
Our Hotel based in San Teodoro near Olbia-Costa Smeralda in the northeast of the island is small, friendly and comfortable. We take breakfast at the hotel and eat out in the village during the evening at one of the many restaurants.
Every day we ride taking a different route, enjoying new challenges, scenery and places of interest. The groups are small so we get to talk about your technique, training and goals. During our rides we will stop to admire the breath taking scenery enjoying refreshments as we climb and descend though this ancient landscape with perhaps a trip to the beach at the end of the day.
Tours and camps our bespoke, you can book me at my normal daily rate from 3 to perhaps 6 days, For this camp you can bring your own bike or we can help you arrange local hire if required.
